My name is Jessica, Jess for short. I’m about 5’3.” 110 pounds. ”Skinyfat.” Dark brown hair, and dark hazel eyes. Freckles. Very much so Italian. I’m pretty shy but people usually don’t believe that.
I truly have been saved by the grace of Southern charm. My Mom was born in New Hampshire- lived in Spain, Kansas and South Dakota as an Airforce brat (many other places too.) And my dad born in California- lived in Cali, Louisiana, and Illinois (his dad was a recruit trainer, what ever the Navy calls a DI) Met in South Dakota and somehow managed to settle in Mississippi and boy am I glad lol.
I am a Christian. I love God and live to serve him. But I won’t shove it down your throat. I don’t cuss, smoke, or do drugs. I live above all of that stuff.
I got married in December of 2010 after waiting 2 years and through a deployment to marry my love. 5,000 miles apart for a long time while he was in Hawaii and I in Mississippi. Then he deployed to Afghanistan for 7 months. After his tour, we were finally able to get married. We waited because we wanted an actual wedding. No courthouse marriage. Marriage is a thing that you only get to do once, so we did it right in front of God, our families, and friends. The way it should be. And it was more than anything I could have ever asked of even though I planned the whole thing myself and asked him little detail questions in our few and far between phone calls while he was in country.
I live in Hawaii with my best friend and husband who is a Marine working towards his next deployment. I have a love/hate relationship with the Marine Corps.
We met while I was still in high school but didn’t get together until I was in college. 5,000 miles apart. Texting and skype dates were our best friend. I don’t regret staying up until 2 am every night at all. He is my best friend and I would do anything for him.
I was an Elite gymnast, meaning I traveled all around the USA and the world representing the United States of America on the National Team- yes I know Shawn Johnson and Nastia Liukin. I was in the gym training from 6-8 hours a day 1-2 times a day 6 days a week 40+ hours a week.
I was hit by an 18 wheeler and that ended my gymnastics career after I had signed a full ride scholarship to the University of Alabama to compete for them.
I love photography and almost always have my camera in my hand. Still life and landscape are my favorites, can never get enough.
I love the ocean, not so much being in it, but the creatures that inhabit it. They intrigue me. Orcas are my favorite and it has always been my dream to go whale watching and shoot(photograph) these amazing creatures. I will probably cry if that day ever comes.
I went to school at Mississippi State University and studied Biology with a concentration in Zoology to become a Herpetologist- working with reptiles.
I worked at the #1 Zoo in the Nation- The Memphis Zoo and Aquarium for 2 years at first as a Zoo Camp teacher and then working with the Big Cats, Penguins, and Reptiles. I miss it like crazy and can’t wait to get back into a zoo working. It has also been a dream of mine to work at Australia Zoo, along side Steve Irwin, but now he’s dead, and so is that dream pretty much.
Animals are my passion and theres an endless amount of information left for me to learn.
I love nature and there are so many sights left in the world that I would love to see.
I have been to England, France, Honduras, Spain, China, Mexico, Australia, Italy, Germany - Some for gymnastics, some for church missions.
I’m in love with all things Victorian-houses, chairs, mirrors, frames, rooms, decor. I will own a Victorian home as my dream house.
I look at the movies Pearl Harbor, Jurassic Park, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Karate Kid completely different now that I live in Hawaii when parts, or all of the film was made. And quite frankly Jurassic Park freaks me out more than ever because part of it was filmed right by my house.
